Do you need some fun activities to get through those hectic days leading up to Halloween? I’ve got you covered with activities (and ESCAPE ROOMS) for math, grammar, and writing! These are perfect for students in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. They’d also work well with older students who struggle with certain concepts and need an extra review.

These can be used for whole group activities, centers, early finishers, and for your sub folder!

Concepts Reviewed:

  • Sentences – Students identify the type of sentence.
  • Nouns – Is the underlined word a common, proper,or plural noun?
  • Parts of Speech – Is the underlined word a noun, adjective, verb,or adverb?
  • Language/Words – Students are given two words, and they have to determine if they are synonyms, antonyms, homophones, or if they combine to make a compound word.
  • Reading Comprehension – Students first read a passage, then they answer eight comprehension questions. *NOTE: There is an elapsed time question!

This fall collaborative coloring poster is perfect for your fall or Halloween math bulletin board! Students practice their multiplication facts to color one of 25 blocks. All 25 blocks make a large poster that is 30 x 30 inches!

Students answer questions related to Halloween. There are 42 total student pages in this resource. There are 3 different activities/options to meet the needs of your classroom.

  • Students answer 10 questions with one sentence. They need to restate the question in their answer.
  • Students answer each question with one sentence, restating the question. They also get to draw a picture to go along with their answer.
  • Students can expand on their ideas! They write the first sentence like the ones above. Then they can write more sentences explaining their answers. These work great for DIFFERENTIATION!

A HALLOWEEN TREE

Who says trees have to just be for Christmas?! I found this small, black tree at Hobby Lobby years ago. Halloween had passed, so it was a great deal! I wrapped orange lights around it, and put our Halloween books out next to it. I love it!

FUN CRAFTS!

As a mom of 5 boys, I’ve always loved anything that captures their hand and footprints at different ages. I got the idea from a friend, and I did it with my first four in October 2010 (when #4 was only 3 months old). So when #5 made his arrival 10 year later, I had to do it for him too. It’s so simple! You just need some construction paper, googly eyes, and Halloween theme ribbon.
