End of Year FUN Activities for Elementary School!

Let’s face it, the last few weeks of school can be chaotic! Everyone’s ready for summer break, but as the teacher you still have to plan everyday to keep the students engaged. You need SEVERAL end of the year activities!

What type of activities are best? A lot of teachers love giving activities where students reflect on the school year and what they learned. Memory books are a great idea. I especially love keeping their beginning of the year memory book so they can compare how much they changed throughout the school year.

Another great option is using flipbooks. These don’t take as much time as a memory book, but they can still be a fun keepsake!

Blast Off To… are some of my favorite activities since I love anything space-themed. With these activities students get to reflect on what they did throughout the school year, and they write about what they’re looking forward to in the next grade. There are several options!

Students can:

  • make a rocket shape book: Students color a rocket with the words “___ Grade was a Blast! The second page is a rocket with lines for students to write
  • make an 8 1/2 x 11 book with a cover page that says “Blast Off to __ Grade!” This option has several pages to choose from. There are graphic organizers and sentence starters to help your students get started.
  • make a rocket and writing activity: Students color and cut out a rocket and glue it to the writing page.

Since students are REALLY looking forward to summer, give them some writing activities that get them excited about what’s to come! These summer-themed writing craftivities will give you FOUR different pieces of writing to give your students.

These summer themed activities are perfect for your end of the year needs. You get FOUR different summer writing activities. There is a summer bucket list craft, beach ball craft, Popsicle craft, and sun craft.

You don’t want to just give students writing to work on all day. Give them some fun review worksheets and color by number/code activities for math and grammar, too!

Lastly, help students give Mom and Dad a fun keepsake book for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. These are simple, independent activities that moms and dads will love. Have students who need to make one for someone else special in their lives? Both come with the same pages without the words MOM and DAD on them!

  • There are six cover options for students to choose from. There are generic ones, and options where there’s a boy or a girl.
  • One page is a Mother’s Day writing activity where students complete three sentences about why they love their mom and what makes her special.
  • A second page has students fill out their mom’s favorites.
  • The third page is a large heart where students can draw a picture of themselves with their mom.

  • Cover Page — Six options to choose from!
  • All About My Dad — Students fill in their dad’s favorites.
  • Why they love their dad and why he’s special — This includes an option with dad/son and dad/daughter.
  • Tie — There are two options. Students can use the page that says My Dad Is… to write words to describe their dad. OR, there’s a blank tie where students can decorate it how they want.

Having several options of fun activities and review worksheets will help those last weeks of school run smoothly. Keep behavior in check and keep students engaged!
